Going Vintage? Crockery hire for your wedding
I had never thought about vintage crockery for a wedding, or even any crockery for that matter of fact until a very stylish friend of mine brought it up the other day when I was talking about this site. But having done a bit of digging and research it I can see the inspiration – how cool and appropriate it could be …. the afternoon tea and cakes, the english summer weddings, the lace and antique dresses - it all fits in perfectly if that is the look you are going for.
There are companies that specialise in the whole ‘vintage’ wedding such as Vintage Days, or Glynnis Maguire at Scarlett Ribbon for creative wedding work and ideas. I have heard that there are many specialist (and some very good) vintage wedding dress boutiques – I’ll be reviewing those shortly.

Crockery Cupboard
Scarlett Ribbon (does among many other things) vintage crockery hire at pretty reasonable rates. However my favourite of all the sites is The Crockery Cupboard, a London company founded by 2 friends, who hire out crockery from the 1920’s to the 1960’s and promise to add a bit of stylish ‘vintage glamour’ to your wedding celebrations. I can’t remember what I paid for my bog standard white dinner plates but they’re charging anything from £1 for dinner plates to £2 for cups and saucers which sounds like a much more fun and stylish alternative than what most of us opt for.

Hi there!
What a good idea, setting up a website where you can share ideas. I recently got married in February and had a vintage inspired wedding in Worcestershire. As a result of my wedding, i set up my own vintage crockery hire company as i love all things vintage, especially crockery and china. Have a look at my website for inspiration (www.myvintageparty.co.uk). I ask my customers to return the crockery unwashed, after all, you want to put your feet up at the end of your vintage party!!

There is nothing better than drinking tea from a tea cup it makes everyone feel special.
I think that like others doing vintage crockery hire my obsession starting when planning my own wedding day. I have set up http://www.prettyvintage.co.uk based in Norfolk, and have a beautiful selection of crockery and lovely accessories including picnic blankets, vintage tablecloths, bunting and deck chairs. I seem to dream of pretty teapots and cups and saucers these days. I also make prettily iced cupcakes too for weddings, parties, christenings etc.
Hi
Wow there are so many of us out there. I did the very same, I set up a vintage china hire business after my own wedding. I had a vintage theme and everything was vintage, old English, lace and floral, it was gorgeous.
My site is http://www.theafternoonteaparty.co.uk
I love to buy vintage accessories and have an almost unhealthy obsession with collecting vintage china, pearls and jewellery. I think my husband thinks I have gone wedding mad!!!
